How the service area works

One office, one specialist, and a lot of freeway.

Dr. Celina Nadelman practises from a single office at 1125 S. Beverly Drive in Los Angeles. There is no second location, because the point of the service is that the physician who takes your sample is the one who reads it under the microscope, and that only happens in one room. What varies is how far patients travel to reach it, and whether she travels to them instead.

Come to the office

  • One appointment. Ultrasound, biopsy, staining and the consultation all happen in the same visit.
  • No referral needed. You can book directly, and the report still goes to your own physician.
  • A thin sample is repeated on the day. Not reported back to you a fortnight later by an outside lab.
  • Preliminary results within 24 hours. Usually before a hospital would have given you an appointment.

  • House calls anywhere in California. Not just Los Angeles County, the whole state.
  • She brings the equipment. The ultrasound and the staining setup travel with her.
  • Same procedure, same turnaround. A homebound patient gets the identical test at home.

Distance is the only thing that changes. The biopsy, the microscope work and the person doing both are the same whether you drive fifteen minutes from Glendale or fly in from New York.

The person holding the needle is the person reading the cells.

In almost every other setting those are two different people, and the handoff between them is where the two weeks go. That handoff is the reason someone drives down from Bakersfield or flies in from the Monterey Peninsula for a test that takes twenty minutes. Dr. Nadelman is one of very few physicians in the United States who is board certified in cytopathology and practises as a fine needle aspiration specialist. She performs the biopsy and she interprets it.

At 1125 S. Beverly Drive, Suite 602, in Los Angeles, CA 90035, with parking in the building garage. It is the only office, because the whole point of the service is that the physician taking the sample is the one reading it, and that happens in one room.

Yes, anywhere in the state rather than only Los Angeles County. She brings the ultrasound and the staining setup with her, so a homebound or immobile patient gets the same procedure and the same turnaround at home. It is worth asking about before planning a long drive.

No. You can schedule directly with the office wherever you are coming from. If you do have a referring physician, the report goes to them as well, and because Dr. Nadelman reads the slides herself that conversation happens with the person who made the diagnosis.

That is what the appointment is built around. The slides are stained and read under the microscope in the office while you are still there, so a thin sample is caught and repeated on the day. Preliminary findings are usually available within 24 hours, which for most travelling patients is before they get home.
