Is a thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy painful?

Most patients experience very little discomfort during a thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration biopsy. Because the procedure uses a very thin needle, many people compare it to having blood drawn. The biopsy is typically completed within a few minutes, and patients can usually return to normal activities immediately afterward.
